France“s Bourgeois has been placed in receivership by the commercial court of Lons le Saunier, eastern France, in order to reorganize its business and operations, the optical glass maker announced on 13 January 2006. The procedure opens an observation period to look at measures for operations consolidation and strengthening, Bourgeois said in a statement. Bourgeois will continue to service its clients and process orders while simultaneously providing after-sales service and technical assistance, the company added. The company“s net loss for the 1H of 2005 increased to EUR 480,000 (USD 582,000) from EUR 64,000 (USD 77,000) for the same period of 2004, it was reported on 3 January 2006.
