Sealant and adhesives manufacturer Bostik launched a new product numbering system at the glasstec trade fair in 2006. The new system, says the company, will simplify the product selection process for insulating glass (IG) manufacturers. As of 1 November 2006, Bostik products within each IGU sealant type now share a distinctive number code. For example, Bostik“s IGU Polysulphide products are now denoted by a 3000 classification, whereas all Bostik IGU Hot Melt products are now easily identifiable by a 5000 grouping. Bostik“s entire IGU range is available under the system, including flagship products such as P5125 and Hiflo, as well as newer lines such as Bostik 5000. Richard Sellman, marketing manager at Bostik, believes that the new system is an important step for Bostik. He commented: “Over the years, Bostik“s extensive portfolio of brands has been enhanced by a successful growth strategy. Subsequently, we are able to offer customers one of the most comprehensive ranges of sealants and adhesives on the market”.
