12 November 1998: US-based BNZ Materials, Inc. (BNZ), a manufacturer of insulating refractory products, has been named exclusive worldwide sales and marketing representative for Utah Refractories Corporation, a US-based manufacturer of GREFCO and GEN-SIL silica brick and Gen-Sil mortars for the glass and cokemaking industries, specifically glass tank crowns and coke ovens. “These well-established products broaden our current refractory line to help us better serve our customers in the glass and cokemaking industries,” Tom Mulholland, manager of sales, said. BNZ primarily serves high-temperature processing and industrial heating applications. The company is based in Littleton, Colorado, and has plants in North Billerica, Massachusetts, and Zelienople, Pennsylvania, which BNZ purchased from Johns-Manville Corporation in 1988. The Zelienople plant has been manufacturing insulating firebricks since 1941.
