11 February 1999: Japan“s Asahi Technoglass, a manufacturer of special glass, has announced its latest parent forecast for the year to 31 December 1998. Its latest forecast for sales, 26.07 billion yen, is up slightly on the previous forecast of 26 billion yen. Sales for the whole of 1997 amounted to 26.34 billion yen. However, the latest net profit forecast has been slashed to 110 million yen, from the earlier figure of 240 million, which was also the company“s net profit in 1997.
