Applied Films Corporation has been ranked first in the Fastest Growing Technology Companies in Deloitte“s Colorado Technology Fast 50 Program, the supplier of thin film deposition equipment said 10 October 2005. Rankings are based on the percentage of revenue growth over five years. Applied Films grew its revenue by approximately 3103% during this period. The net income of Applied Films also grew by 302% during the five year period. “We are excited to have achieved the number one ranking on the Deloitte Colorado Technology Fast 50 list,” said Thomas T. Edman, president and CEO of Applied Films Corporation. “This represents the fourth consecutive year that we have been ranked in the Fast 50, and the first time that our company has attained the number one position.” To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least USD 50,000 in 2000 and USD 1,000,000 in 2004, be headquartered in North America, and be a “technology company,” defined as a company that either owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company“s operating revenues or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies“ technology in a unique way does not qualify. Winners of the 15 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte“s Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America“s top 500 fastest growing technology companies. “Sustaining high revenue growth over five years is an exceptional accomplishment.
