The World Expo 2025 is held from April 13 to October 13, 2025, in Osaka, Japan, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” It is the place where the world’s knowledge such as cutting-edge technology will be brought together, used to create new ideas, and building concepts shared, all to help resolve global issues facing humanity.
AGC Glass Europe is a partner of the Belgian and the Czech National Pavilions at EXPO Osaka 2025. AGC sees these partnerships as unique opportunities to demonstrate its power of innovation, respect for tradition and vision of a sustainable future – values that fully coincide with the theme of the Word Expo.
AGC Glass Europe has a long standing relationship with BelExpo. It has supported the Belgian Pavilion for the EXPO in Shanghai (2010), Milano (2015), Dubai (2020) and now also in Osaka (2025). The Belgium Pavilion at EXPO Osaka 2025 is a design by Carre 7, Beyond Limits, One Designs, Pirnay Group and Bureau d’Etudes Poly-tech engineering SA. Joining forces with BelExpo as a Silver Partner for the Expo 2025 Osaka marks AGC’s continuous support and unlocks new possibilities for creating an incredible journey for the Belgian Pavilion.
AGC Flat Glass Czech has enriched the Czech National Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, with an artistic glass façade. In collaboration with Kolektiv Ateliers and the façade company Wieden, AGC Flat Glass Czech created an original exterior glass envelope that forms the iconic visual centrepiece of the Czech pavilion.
AGC Flat Glass Czech delivered over 55 tonnes of glass for the façade of the Czech National Pavilion. It produced and supplied 332 glass panels in the form of laminated safety patterned thermally treated glass with an artistic design for the façade of the five-storey wooden building. Each glass panel, with a total thickness of 27 millimetres, consists of three glass panes laminated together with two PVB safety films: two panes are made of Planibel Clearlite and one pane is made of Imagin Gothic patterned glass. The artistic design is on one outer pane of clear glass as well as on the inner patterned glass. The clear glass was produced at the Řetenice plant, the patterned glass at the Barevka plant. The glass was processed at the AGC Processing Teplice plant.
