Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. announced 26 May 2006 that Thomas M. Rohrs was elected by the stockholders as a new director on 24 May 2006. Mr. Rohrs is currently chairman and chief executive officer of Electroglas, Inc., a supplier of wafer probing technologies to the semiconductor industry, a position he has held since 7 April 2006. Hans Betz, president and chief executive officer of Advanced Energy, said, “Tom has a deep understanding of our industry as well as extensive experience in global manufacturing operations, specifically in Asia, after nearly thirty years in the high technology sector. Mr. Rohrs spent five years with Applied Materials Inc., most recently as senior vice president of global operations, and was a member of its Executive Committee. He also has served as vice president of worldwide operations at Silicon Graphics and as senior vice president of manufacturing and customer service of MIPS Computer Systems. Mr. Rohrs also has worked in various manufacturing and operations positions at Hewlett-Packard Company. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Magma Design Automation, Inc., Ultra Clean Technology and several private companies.
