Austrian company Binder + Co. announced that it has successfully entered the markets of the US and South East Asia in the field of waste glass processing. In the field of waste glass sorting, the company points out that it has penetrated the South East Asian market with the construction of a waste glass recycling plant with an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes in Bangkok, Thailand, for the Bangkok Glass company. And finally, the company points out that it was able to provide a convincing solution for the colour separation of mixed cullet by means of the BWG separator. Besides establishing itself in the new markets, Binder + Co. asserts that it has also set new standards in quality control. The first plant for the automatic quality control of glass sorting plants has been successfully operating in Berlin since the spring of 1995. This quality control system is the first to be based on statistical principles and enables a fully automatic trend analysis with quality certificate to be carried out. The plastic sorting plant, based on the Criterion sorting module, has an annual capacity of approximately 6,000 tonnes and allows thorough material and colour separation of pre-sorted plastic containers while also sorting out all light materials. A throughput of 1,000 kg/h can be reached in both modes of operation. This solution, which has recently been developed by Binder + Co., is, according to the company, superior to manual sorting and to first generation conventional automatic processing plants in its throughput capacity, thoroughness of sorting, accuracy of separation and overall economy. The company explains that this results in fractions sorted to a high degree of purity of both colour and material, thus enabling valuable granules of almost 100% purity made from waste plastics to be retrieved from which more valuable products can be manufactured. In the field of rubble sorting, Binder + Co. has entered the market with the construction of a complete rubble recycling plant in an Upper Austrian recycling centre. Broken bricks, asphalt and concrete demolition material are separated in the rubble plant. Up to 60,000 tonnes of rubble and building waste can be processed for re-use in the construction industry. Apart from the Binder rubble recycling plant, the recycling park also comprises a sorting plant for trade and commercial waste, a composting plant and a residual waste comminution plant.
