A series of orders have been secured by Belgian Hepworth Refractories, part of the UK group Hepworth Plc., to supply 10,000 tonnes of materials to the glass-making industry. The orders are worth a total of BFr 360 million and represent 150,000 hours of work. Some of the materials are destined for glass furnaces at Saint-Gobain“s sites at Aniche (France), Cebrace (Brazil), Covina (Portugal) and Polfloat (Poland) and for Glaverbel“s Teplice furnace. Others will go to glass bottle units of the Danone group in France and Spain and of Verlipack at Mons/Ghlin. The company, employing 450, said turnover for 1995 would be about 10% higher than the 1994 total of BFr 1.4 billion.
