According to the organisers, the 14th edition of the international confectionery packaging machinery and materials fair scheduled for 9-15 May 1996 in Dsseldorf, Germany is already fully booked, with a number of firms having been turned away. Over 2,000 firms are expected at the city“s recently enlarged exhibition area. Interpack “96 will revert to the thematic use of the halls: confectionery machinery manufacturers in halls 1 to 3, and part of 15; packaging materials in halls 3 to 6; packaging machinery in halls 7 to 15. Participants will also be able to take part in a programme of conferences on current issues such as packaging and the environment. On 9 May there will be an international symposium on how German legislation on recycling and packaging may be used as a model by other nations, while on 10 May there will be a forum on the opportunities offered to machine tool makers in the emerging markets of Asia. An estimated 180,000 visitors will attend the fair which is to be opened by Germany“s Environment Minister, Dr. Angela Merkel. Glass Machinery Plants and Accessories will be distributed at the Artech Publishing stand.
