To complement wines made with the Syrah grape variety, Austrian glassmaker Georg Riedel is producing two new glasses. The hand-blown Sommeliers Hermitage glass, which sells for US$ 57, has been designed to suit classic Rhone Valley wines, while the machine-made Vinum Syrah glass, retailing at US$ 21, is thought to be best for Australian Shiraz wines. As with all Riedel glasses, the designs are the result of extensive testing and tasting by a panel of winemakers.
