Polish glass maker Krosno SA (Krosnienskie Huty Szkla SA) continues to report increased sales and net profit figures for 1996. Although net profit for the month of July fell to Zl 0.5 million (from Zl 0.55 million for July 1995), net profit for the first seven months of the year was up 32% on 1995“s total of Zl 5.13 million, as it reached Zl 6.76 million. Sales to July stood at Zl 105.38 million, up 25%. In addition, the brokerage of Poland“s Bank Handlowy SA has indicated that the future looks bright for Krosno, due to its diversified production and strong position on the industrial glass market. Krosno“s glass fibre production, high exports, expected production growth and highly trained staff were also noted. Handlowy predicted that the Polish glassmaker would have a Zl 11.5 million net profit this year and Zl 15 million in 1997 against Zl 8.4 million last year and Zl 3.4 million in 1994. Furthermore, sales are expected to rise this year to Zl 195 million and Zl 233 million in 1997 against Zl 154 million last year.
