An announcement by Italian Mappi Srl recently stated that it had supplied the first horizontal tempering plant AU Gamma “96 to Wright & Offland of Manchester, United Kingdom, a firm with more than a century-old glassmaking tradition. The plant supplied is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year. In addition, Mappi announced that earlier this year, in July, it signed an agency contract with Lechner Srl of Italy for French- and German-speaking countries in Europe, as well as for the central and northern regions of Italy. The Italian company also said that its technical staff will attend Glastec “96 and will be available to illustrate the use of electronic equipment from Siemens in its furnace products, underlining the importance and the quality of automation which makes its machinery so competitive and unique.
