Sisecam Flat Glass is celebrating World Architecture Week with world-famous architects at hosts in ‘T Meetings’, and event it has held for two years.
Last year’s featured architect was Japan’s Sou Fujimoto last year and this year, Sisecam connected Dutch architect Winy Maas, founder of MVRDV, with building sector professionals and architecture students. Sisecam Flat Glass Marketing Group Manager Ebru Sapoglu expressed her appreciation for the intense attention attracted to the event, celebrating of architects, who shape our living spaces and give soul to cities.
In his presentation “What’s Next?”, architect Winy Maas expressed his passion for designing and developing living spaces. Maas, who says he predominantly uses glass in his works, said the following, emphasizing that future buildings should be transparent and breathe: “We should find a solution to the problem by speculating over the future. Criticism in architecture takes an important place. Constructive criticism adds dynamism to architecture.”
The well-known architect, who has put his signature on many successful works, not only in architecture but also in different fields of design, including landscaping and urban planning, is the shareholder of MVRDV architecture office. Rotterdam Market Hall, Paris PushedSlab, Schijndell Glass Farm, Bordeaux Master Plan for BastideNiel and SuffolkBalancingBarn are among recent outstanding projects completed by his team.
In the first session of T Meetings last year, Sisecam Flat Glass hosted Sou Fujimoto, considered to be one of the leading names of contemporary architecture. Fujimoto, who was deemed worthy of ‘Innovator Award of the Year’ by the Wall Street Journal, made a presentation titled Between Nature and Architecture’ in front of almost one thousand participants.
