At Pennekamp, the R&D Centre and Quality Control Department are two key pillars behind the technology and quality of the equipment.
Research that drives innovation
Pennekamp has been a benchmark for many innovations in plant engineering for the glass industry, reflected in the many patents owned by the company.
The research projects are carried out in cooperation with technical universities, research institutes and industry partners, exploring how new technologies can be applied in a future-oriented way and transformed into new products and new market opportunities.
From R&D to real-world innovation
Pennekamp’s continuous product development is reflected in technologies such as:
- ConveX G (BLEU) – Pennekamp’s patented burner technology for heating and cooling. Depending on production type and capacity, lehrs equipped with BLEU have demonstrated 20–50% lower gas consumption compared with conventional lehrs using side burners, while reducing harmful emissions such as NOx, CO and CO₂ by 40–65%.
- ConveX E – A retrofittable electric convection module that enables existing gas-fired lehrs to operate as HYBRID, using either electricity or gas according to the customer’s preference. A Plug & Play approach supporting more flexible and greener manufacturing.
- POROJET Burner – The latest generation of side burner technology, developed for more efficient and ecological combustion. Its Plug & Play design is compatible with conventional lehrs from Pennekamp or other manufacturers, providing optimised combustion with reduced CO and NOx emissions.
Quality at every step
Innovation must also be backed by quality. Alongside the R&D activities, the Quality Control Department at Pennekamp monitors and ensures the quality of equipment, helping to maintain the high standards expected from Pennekamp.
Research. Develop. Optimise. Verify.
From research projects and patented technologies to quality-controlled equipment ready for production — we continue developing solutions for the future of the glass industry.
