Vidrala continues to make progress in its decarbonisation and energy efficiency strategy. Within this framework, the Group is driving a flagship project (Proyecto Tractor) at its Crisnova Vidrio plant, located in Caudete, Albacete, Spain, which will accelerate its industrial transformation and reduce emissions, avoiding around 28,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year.
The initiative comprises four work-streams focused on decarbonisation, energy efficiency and renewable self-consumption. Key measures include the replacement of one of the current furnaces with a highly electrified furnace; the reduction of thermal energy consumption; the introduction of efficiency improvements in production processes; and the installation of solar PV panels for self-consumption.
