Şişecam introduces sustainable lightweight glass packaging solutions

Şişecam continues to lead the industry’s transformation by extending this approach to beverage packaging.

Following the successful introduction of 110-gram ultra-lightweight mineral water bottles, Şişecam has now expanded its light-weighting efforts to include 300 and 400 ram wine bottles, offering the sector an environmentally responsible and aesthetically refined packaging alternative.

Designed to address the varying requirements of beverage producers, the bottles are available in two options. The 400 gram bottle, with a capacity of 1,000 millilitres, a height of 302.6 millimetres, and a diameter of 83 millimetres, represents a compelling solution for the premium segment. The 300 gram bottle, with a 750 millilitre capacity, a height of 292 millimetres, a diameter of 73.9 millimetres, and a screw-cap finish, combines the classic bottle silhouette with an ultra-lightweight design. Notably, the 300 gram option also stands out as the tallest bottle in its category.

Developed through Şişecam’s advanced engineering capabilities, the new ultra-lightweight bottles are manufactured using reduced amounts of raw materials and resources. Compared to conventional glass bottles, their lighter weight contributes to lower energy consumption during transportation, while their fully recyclable structure supports the reduction of environmental impact. These features enhance logistical efficiency and help optimise operational costs across the supply chain.

With its 300 and 400 gram ultra-lightweight glass bottle portfolio, Şişecam delivers a cost-efficient, sustainable, and visually premium packaging solution for beverage producers, retailers, and wholesalers. The lightweight glass construction preserves a high-end quality perception while enabling brands to align their packaging choices with their sustainability objectives.
