Grupo Tecnovidrio has taken a decisive step in its growth strategy with the launch of a new production plant in Toluca, Mexico, fully equipped with TUROMAS technology. The facility features two RUBI 517C monolithic cutting tables and an automatic storage system, marking a milestone in the modernisation and efficiency of its processes.
With a history that dates back to the early 20th century, Grupo Tecnovidrio continues the family legacy started by the grandfather of José Antonio Riestra, a pioneer in mirror manufacturing in Mexico. Since its founding in 1992, the company has evolved to become a national benchmark in large-format, laminated and low-emissivity glass solutions for unique architectural projects. Iconic works such as Torre Virreyes, Torre Reforma and the Los Cabos Convention Center are part of its contribution to the country’s architectural development.
In this new phase, the company entrusted TUROMAS to design a tailored technological solution that enhances planning, precision and production traceability. Conceived before the pandemic and jointly developed, the project has transformed the workflow into a more automated and robust model.
The implemented solution includes two RUBI 517C tables with linear motors and the ACR system for processing EasyPro and TPF-coated glass, as well as an intelligent SR-07 storage system with 38 positions and a capacity of 624 tons. Its external reloading station allows the system to be supplied without interrupting the work cycle, offering greater operational flexibility. Both the cutting lines and the storage system are prepared to handle two standard sheets or one jumbo sheet, adapting to the demands of each project. The next phase includes the addition of two remnant storage units to complete full system integration.

For Grupo Tecnovidrio, TUROMAS’ commitment and support have been key. The close collaboration between both teams made it possible to develop an advanced, user-friendly solution aligned with the company’s growth plans. The project reflects Tecnovidrio’s family philosophy: relationships built on trust and growth driven by teamwork.
The alliance between TUROMAS and Grupo Tecnovidrio demonstrates how experience, innovation and a shared vision can turn an idea into a state-of-the-art facility. The new plant, highly automated and ready for future challenges, strengthens Tecnovidrio’s position as one of the most advanced players in Mexico’s glass industry.
