FGIA to host two educational sessions during GlassBuild America

FGIA will take to the main stage at GlassBuild America, covering important and timely topics like the current state of supply chains and field testing for commercial fenestration systems. FGIA staff will also be on hand at the Industry Pavillion, booth 27096, November 4-6 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

“We know that supply chain challenges are top of mind for many in the industry, so we’re pleased to have assembled a panel of experts to dive into this issue and offer practical solutions,” said Janice Yglesias, FGIA Executive Director. “We are also proud to share FGIA staff expertise on utilizing field testing to verify performance of newly installed storefronts, curtain walls and sloped glazing systems.”

Field testing for commercial fenestration systems
November 5, 4:15-4:45 pm
Speaker: Aaron Blom, FGIA Technical Training Specialist

Once products have been installed, how can you confirm they are performing as intended? Blom will share insights from AAMA 503, “Voluntary specification for field testing of newly installed store-fronts, curtain walls and sloped glazing systems,” which outlines test methods for evaluating the performance of newly installed store-fronts, curtain walls and sloped glazing systems. These tests provide reasonable assurance that the installed product is performing to the required air leakage and/or water penetration performance levels.
