SOTUVER is a Tunisian manufacturer of hollow glass producing containers for the food industry since 1967 covering the Mediterranean basin, Africa and the Middle East.
The Bayahi Group, reference shareholders of SOTUVER, announced to have accepted a non-binding offer from a major international glass packaging manufacturer to acquire approximately 41 percent of the share capital of the company.
According to the Tunisian glassmaker, this operation is part of a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating and strengthening SOTUVER’s development.
This deal is expected to generate around TND 216 million (41 percent of a valuation of TND 529 million). However, the press release did not mention the buyer, which should be one of the world’s top five glass container producers.
In 2024 SOTUVER replaced its Furnace no. 2 in order to convert it into a 150 tonnes per day regenerative end fired furnace with two forehearths for the production of container glass in emerald green. The existing melting area was also enlarged to 66.3 square metres.
