Crystalex, the largest Czech manufacturer of glass products, intends to invest about 2 billion RUB in the localization of production at the plant in Tikhoretsk in the Kuban, Russia. The company is perhaps the most famous Czech glass factory, and has been operating for more than 50 years. The enterprise may become the only manufacturer of Bohemian glass in Russia.
In 2019 during a trip to the Czech Republic, the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, held negotiations with the owners of Crystalex, while investors considered the possibility of launching production at the plant in Tikhoretsk.
More recently, the General Director of Crystalex Janusz Tomasz announced that he intends to invest about 2 billion RUB in the creation of a closed production cycle. Following the meeting, the Vice Governor instructed the Industrial Policy Department, together with the Investment and SME Development Department, to draw up a roadmap for the implementation of the project.
It is clarified that production is planned to be localized on the basis of a plant in Tikhoretsk, since now it is the only enterprise in Russia where Bohemian glass from the Czech Republic is decorated. The production capacity is about 300 thousand items per year, and products are supplied to all regions of the country.
