The National Company for Glass Industries (Zoujaj) of Saudi Arabia has reported pre-tax profits of SR 18.2 million (US$ 4.9 million) in 1996, down from SR 19.7 million (US$ 5.3 million) in 1995. In its unaudited financial statement for 1996, Zoujaj reported operational revenues of SR 37.7 million, up from SR 37.2 million in 1995. Both assets and liabilities of Zoujaj as on 31 December 1996 were balanced at SR 322.4 million, up from SR 314.4 million in 1995. Shareholders“ equity increased to SR 226.1 million from SR 197.4 million the previous year. The equity consisted of SR 200 million as paid-up capital, SR 6.3 million as statutory reserves and SR 19.8 million as retained profits.
