Tony O“Reilly Junior, son of chairman Tony O“Reilly, has been appointed deputy CEO of Waterford Wedgwood, with effect from 1 January 2001. He will report to group CEO, Brian Patterson. O“Reilly Junior has been a non-executive main board director of the Irish group since 1998. His father, with associates, has a 27% holding in Waterford Wedgwood. Commenting on the appointment of Tony O“Reilly Junior, president and chief operating officer Redmond O“Donoghue said, “his wide business experience and his exceptional energy will be of great value to us as we exploit the opportunities presented by the marriage of our unique Wedgwood heritage with the exciting new world of design, taste and style, captured by our alliances with designers such as Versace, Bulgari, Paul Costelloe, Nick Munro, John Rocha and Jasper Conran.”
