The chairman of Germany“s Vegla Vereinigte Glaswerke GmbH, Jacques Aschenbroich, has been appointed director with responsibility for sheet glass at Vegla“s parent company Saint-Gobain in Paris. His successor is Dr. Franz J. King, a member of the Vegla board since January 1994. Meanwhile, Konrad Vorpeil retired at the beginning of January after 25 years with Vegla. His successor is Peter Weinmann, former director responsible for personnel and environmental matters at Vetrotex Deutschland GmbH (Herzogenrath) which also belongs to the Saint-Gobain group.
