Utility poles manufacturer McFarland-Cascade and composite technologies producer Powertrusion International Inc. announced 3 June 2003 that they signed an exclusive supply and distribution deal for the United States and Canada. Under the agreement, McFarland-Cascade will market and distribute Powertrusion“s pultruded fiberglass reinforced composite (PFRC) utility poles through McFarland-Cascade“s sales and distribution network. McFarland-Cascade will take on responsibility for all PFRC utility pole order handling including customer contacts, quotations, delivery and customer service. “McFarland-Cascade“s strong reputation as the premier supplier of utility poles in the United States and Canada will enhance Powertrusion“s ability to serve the utility and telecommunications marketplace,” said Joseph W. Reilly, president and CEO of Powertrusion International Inc. McFarland-Cascade will stock and deliver Powertrusion poles throughout the United States and Canada throught its extensive network of service centers and distribution yards. Powertrusion will continue to market its PFRC crossarms and other products through existing sales channels. “We see unique opportunities to provide our existing customers with an innovative product at a reduced delivered cost by shipping Powertrusion“s poles through our network of distribution facilities,” stated Kevin Comerford, director of marketing for McFarland Cascade. “We believe Powertrusion“s lightweight, long-lasting fiberglass poles will offer our customers with multiple application solutions such as remote or limited access, woodpecker or termite infested areas and aesthetically sensitive areas.”
