In order to boost its production of green and amber beer and cider bottles, United Glass of the UK, is to open a new UK 14 million glass furnace and production line at Harlow, UK. The furnace will replace one of the three at Harlow, with extra capacity helping to ease the “very tight” supply position for 25 cl and 33 cl beverage bottles, said a United Glass spokesman. “The UK non-returnable beer sector rose by over 40% during 1995, the fourth year of significant growth,” he added.
