UK-based Solaglas Ltd. has supplied a frame-less, internal curved glass wall to the clubroom and restaurant of the Building Design Partnership-designed Air Traffic Control Centre at Swanwick, Hampshire, UK, and more than 600 sq. m. of its FireMaster 90 glazing for the operational control centre. The two-hour fire-resistant glazing is intended to allow staff to remain at their posts in safety until air traffic control can be redirected to other centres. In addition, the latest idea to come from Solaglas is glass that is intentionally cracked. The Cracked Ice pattern, is produced by fracturing toughened glass and then laminating it between two annealed sheets.
