According to Sklarny Kavalier Sazava“s finance director, Jaroslav Krajc, the company“s sales totalled a record Czk 124 million in September 1995. A further increase was also expected by the end of 1995, meaning a 13% growth in overall annual sales from the previous year. Sklarny Kavalier“s output over the first three quarters totalled Czk 1.1 billion, and the company received Czk 1 billion for goods and services. A three-quarter gross profit of Czk 156 million was also a substantial increase over the same period in 1994. These favourable results are largely due to the launch of a new pressing line for household glassware, which produces oven-safe glass as well as products for technical use. The company extended its capacity for the production of glass for washing machines which they supply to Miele as well as other domestic manufacturers. Sklarny Kavalier has managed to stand the fierce competition in the world market in oven-safe glass, and has restored trade with Russia, where they export through the joint-venture Bohemia Steklo. Sklarny Kavalier became a joint-stock company in 1990 and was privatised in the first wave of coupon privatisation. The company has a share capital of Czk 722.9 million, of which 72.4% is owned by legal entities, 10.8% by physical persons, less than 2% are employee-owned shares, and 2.7% are owned by the town.
