Şişecam has successfully commissioned a new coated glass line at its San Giorgio di Nogaro plant in Northern Italy, an EUR 25 million investment, increasing its coated glass capacity in Italy from 6 million square metres to 12.5 million square metres. This strategic move will strengthen Şişecam’s position in the European glass industry and increase the share of value added glass products in its portfolio.
Şişecam CEO Can Yücel said, “The coated glass line we have commissioned at our San Giorgio di Nogaro plant will enhance our production capacity and enrich our product portfolio. This will allow us to better respond to the growing demand for high-quality glass in Europe and deliver our value‑added products to customers in Western Europe. By increasing our coated architectural glass capacities in both Eastern and Western Europe, we will boost our service quality and the range of high-value products we offer in the European market.”

Coated glass line investments being commissioned
On January 30, 2026, Şişecam announced the completion of a new coated glass line with an annual capacity of 6 million square metres at its flat glass production facility in Bulgaria, complementing the existing coated line at the site. Following Italy, Şişecam will commission another coated glass line this year in Tarsus, Türkiye, with an annual capacity of 7 million square metres. With this addition, the company’s global coated glass lines will increase to seven, raising total production capacity to 48.1 million square metres.
