Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari A.S. (Sisecam), Turkey“s largest glass and glassware producer, has announced its results for 1995. Net profit more than trebled to reach TL 1,312.99 billion (TL 427.97 billion in 1994), giving a per share profit of TL 570.87 billion (TL 186.07 billion). Net sales rose to TL 565.98 billion (TL 332.46 billion), operating profit increased to TL 6.57 billion (TL 1.88 billion) and exceptional income stood at TL 1,676.92 billion (TL 571.36 billion). Sisecam holds at least 55% equity stakes in seven production and marketing firms and less than 45% stakes in 22 production, packaging, marketing and finance firms. It relies mainly on dividend revenues from these subsidiaries which are reported in exceptional income. The figures above do not take into consideration Turkey“s 78.9% consumer price inflation in 1995.
