Saint-Gobain SA employees are backing management in its attempts to deter the firm“s largest shareholder, Wendel, from obtaining double voting rights, Les Echos reported 20 February 2008. The paper quotes an employee representative as saying that employees, who are collectively Saint-Gobain“s second-biggest shareholder after Wendel, are prepared to give up their double voting rights in order to stop a gradual takeover of the company by Wendel.
