France“s Saint-Gobain acquired four European silicone rubber processing companies in August 1996. They will be under the management of Saint Gobain“s Norton Performance Plastics division. The acquired companies are: Verneret in Charny in France active in the laboratory, pharmaceuticals and industrial markets with a wide product range of silicone rubber, fluoroelastomers and elastomer products; Gessil in Lyon, France, a silicone rubber processor; MG Silikon GmbH in Lindau, Germany, a manufacturer of sealant profiles and other products for the aviation, household and automotive industries; and Sipro GmbH in Wiesbaden, Germany, a manufacturer of sealant silicone profiles for the building industry.
