Reimagine façades at GAFA2025 – submit your design

Do you have what it takes to design the future of architecture in Southeast Asia?

November 6 to 9, 2025, Glasstech Asia & Fenestration Asia 2025 (GAFA2025) will bring together industry leaders, innovators, architects, designers, engineers and suppliers under one roof to explore cutting-edge technologies, materials and solutions shaping the future of building façades.

Façade Design Competition 2025 – Future Arcologies
As part of Glasstech Asia & Fenestration Asia 2025, architects, designers, engineers and students are invited to reimagine the future of building façades in Indonesia.

This year’s competition challenges participants to create innovative, functional, and sustainable façade concepts that respond to the region’s tropical climate, urban growth and cultural identity. Designs should incorporate advanced materials, energy-efficient strategies and—where possible—building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) to generate clean energy while enhancing aesthetic appeal.

Competition objectives

  • Encourage forward-thinking design approaches that harmonise with nature and the built environment
  • Promote practical, high-performance solutions addressing climate, energy and user comfort
  • Showcase Indonesia’s potential to lead in façade innovation within Southeast Asia

Eligibility
Open to architecture, engineering and design students from universities

Judging criteria

  • Innovation & Creativity: originality of concept and design approach
  • Sustainability & Performance: integration of passive and active energy strategies, including solar technologies
  • Feasibility & Buildability: practicality for real-world application
  • Aesthetics & Cultural Relevance: visual impact and reflection of local identity

Awards & recognition
Winners will be announced during the Gala Dinner at Glasstech Asia 2025, with winning designs showcased to an international audience of industry leaders, developers and media.
