Reiling takes over Micro-Mineral GmbH and Veriso GmbH & Co. KG

With the acquisition of Micro-Mineral GmbH and Veriso GmbH & Co. KG, the Reiling Group continues to grow and makes two strategic company acquisitions.

Just over two years ago, the family-run companies Reiling and Schlüsselbauer merged their German foam glass activities under the joint subsidiary Veriso. Since then, Veriso has been producing its foam glass gravel from recycled waste glass, which was previously provided by Reiling, at its two sites in Knittlingen and Husum, in Germany.

With effect from 1 January 2025, Reiling acquired Schlüsselbauer’s shares in Veriso. “We are convinced of the innovative strength and benefits of our foam glass products for the construction industry. The acquisition will enable us to strengthen our foam glass division and further penetrate our target markets,” said Marc Uphoff, Managing Director of Reiling Glas Recycling GmbH & Co. KG.

Depending on how it is processed, veriso foam glass can be used as an insulating material, or veriso expanded glass gravel can be used as a water storage system—veriso Aqua Store—or as a stabilisation system—veriso Ground Store—for traffic routes in areas with settlement-sensitive soils.

Just recently, the product veriso expanded glass gravel in the construction/road construction sector received the “Product of the Year” award from Baugewerbe-Magazin. In surface substructures for water storage systems, the product saves both valuable space and the costs of rainwater retention basins. Reiling is using the innovative product itself for this purpose in the square extension in Osterweddingen in combination with “veriso Aqua Store and Ground Store” and can therefore drive over the entire area of the square.

Reiling also acquired the company Mirco-Mineral GmbH, which is located in Husum, right next door to Veriso. The company, which is active in the fine grinding of waste glass, is a long-standing partner and customer of Reiling Glas Recycling and also the glass flour supplier for the neighbouring foam glass production.

“By entering the glass grinding business, we have been able to expand our portfolio to include an important process in the value chain,” said Marc Uphoff. In addition to supplying Veriso, glass flour is also a sought-after raw material in many other industries. “In this way, we will further diversify the sales channels for our recycled cullet.”
