A special focus on the latest in matter of IoT—Internet of Things—a network of physical devices, as machines that have installed sensors, software and network connectivity to collect and share data, in order to check and maximise production. The Qibi software has been designed to respond to all requirements of these industrial innovations, a philosophy involving the entire production cycle.
RCN’s recent novelty LIA—laminating integrated automatism—is the most complete example of automatic machine completed with the software streamlining decision-making and manufacturing process. Manufactured with 2 or 4 shelves and the possibility to install storage unit and additional shelves, companies in Italy, Colombia, Australia and Romania have chosen one of the two versions—semi-automatic or full automatic—all equipped with remote control for RCN’s specialists to check together with customers their production trends and assist in case of modifications of recipes or any other action customers may need.
The automatism allows an exchange among the shelves of an ended run with those to be started, stocking up to ten units in a compensator mode. The machine works by managing all the steps in independent mode, once the lamination program has been set.
The production of special products, responding to the safety standards, should rely on machines and accessories. In this sector, RD CLEAN CONCEPT, RCN’s exclusive patented system for clean edges is a crucial pillar since it saves time and reduces the risk of injuries that occur in removing the excess laminating interlayer by the use of sharp tools.
But the benefits of RD CLEAN CONCEPT, patented in Europe and the USA, is more than cleaning. Lamination with regular bags often have major pressure on the edges, which may involve a thinning of the interlayer on the edges resulting in rejection of the laminated glass, especially on building sites where respect of the nominal value of the interlayer is fundamental. Since lamination is the last step after many other works, such as tempering, edge shaping and so on, rejection means high costs for doing the all the jobs over again. RD CLEAN CONCEPT is a candidate for “Accessories, Components & Other Glass Tech Award.”
However, to reach excellent production in lamination, there is one product for which high quality is a must: the laminating interlayer. The REVA BF offered by RCN is a high quality level EVA-based product, validated in production by many Italian and international companies.
Safety glass cannot function without tempering, a treatment playing a key role in making glass more resistant to impact and breakage. Recently, naval, automotive and other industries have shifted the focus on thin glass driven by the need to lighten installations. For these instances, there is only one system granting the tempering of thin glass: chemical tempering with the possibility of processing glass, even of 0.5 millimetre, making it more robust and suitable for the constructions of safety glass, double glazing, walkable areas, etc. The RCN TC line can satisfy all requirements for chemical tempering with different sizes available and possible customisation.
To complete production of special products, glass bending, shaping flat glass into curves, is really a work of art. The demand for curved glass is increasing and any expert operator needs machines performing perfect and complex curves. RCN Solutions can supply different solutions among which the Rotary bending system, a self-excluding twin-axled machine, equipped with four working positions. Bending kilns with different independent heating zones are available too, as part of the company’s tradition.
