Ukranian Poltava medical glass factory, which specializes in the production of medicinal ampoules and vials, recently obtained the ISO-9001 quality certificate. According to Nadezhda Sidorenko, head of the department of economic research at the Poltava medical glass factory, the certificate was issued by SGS, an international company. Following the acquisition of the certificate, the Poltava medical glass factory plans to conclude contracts on export of its products to Romania and other European countries. The Poltava medical glass factory presently exports about 20% of its products to Kazakhstan, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Belarus. It sells the remainder of its products to Ukrainian pharmaceutical plants, mainly the Darnytsia and Farmak pharmaceutical plants. As reported, the Poltava medical glass factory increased output during the January-June period of this year by UAH 5.8 million or 31% to UAH 24.3 million in current prices, compared with the corresponding period of last year. The factory ended the year 2001 with UAH 8.185 million in net profits.
