Belarus“s Polotsk-Steklovolokno and Germany“s P-D Glasseiden Oschatz have agreed to set up high-quality fiberglass production costing USD 22.6 million, it was reported on 23 August 2004. Sources at Belneftekhim, the holding company which owns Polotsk-Steklovolokno, said that approval has been given for the business plan of the “P-D Steklovolokno-Oschatz“ project, which will lease production facilities at Polotsk-Steklovolokno. The founders of the joint venture will put their own money into the company“s charter capital, along with loan funds from Belarussian and foreign commercial banks. The charter capital will be USD 8 million, to be held in equal shares by the two partners and to be put together over a year. Project implementation involves setting up high-output modern fiberglass production with an annual capacity of 20,000 tonnes. It is planned that 50% of output will be shipped to group P-D Management Consulting enterprises in Europe, while the other half will be used for the company“s own needs.
