Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RILCO) and Philips India Ltd. (PIL) have signed a memorandum of understanding for the setting up of a lamp and glass manufacturing unit in the state of Rajasthan. It will be one of the largest glass and lamp making units in India. The Rs 300 crore project will have a capacity to manufacture 400 million pieces of glass shells and 60 million fluorescent tubular lamps a year. PIL will also manufacture stem glass tubing. The project is expected to help develop ancillary industries in the glass and electrical sectors.
