Window manufacturer Pella Corp. plans to create up to 200 jobs at its plant in Murray, Kentucky, to meet demand from Lowe“s Home Improvement stores across the US. Plant operations manager Doug Dieleman said the new jobs were in response to strong demand for the company“s vinyl windows and patio doors. The new jobs will be added over the next few years. Pella currently employs 550 people at the western Kentucky plant. Murray is headquarters for Pella“s Advanced Materials Division, including ThermaStar products, which also are made in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Portland, Oregon. The Iowa-based company started production in a former Mattel toy factory. A rebounding economy and low interest for home-improvement loans have boosted Pella sales in Lowe“s stores, said Pella spokeswoman Kathy Harkema.
