after recent problems US company Owens-Illinois has predicted that annual international sales would grow by between US$ 200 million and US$ 300 million this year. 1995 sales were US$ 3.76 billion, 21% higher than 1994. Asbestos lawsuits, following production of asbestos for heavy-duty pipes during the years 1948 to 1958, are now virtually settled, with the company paying out more than US$ 1 billion in settlements.
