Owens Corning is holding the ‘Handy Homeowners’ contest, asking consumers to show how they handle everyday household tasks in a video contest, encouraging even the not-so-handy homeowners to tackle their list of DIY to-dos and improve their home’s overall comfort and energy efficiency.
Many homeowners are quick to admit they lack the confidence to tackle home improvement projects. As a result, regular home maintenance projects such as installing an extra layer of insulation or repairing a leaky showerhead often get delayed. In support of the launch of its new EcoTouchTM Insulation, Owens Corning is encouraging even the not-so-handy homeowners to tackle their list of DIY to-dos and improve their home’s overall comfort and energy efficiency.
Owens Corning is holding the ‘Handy Homeowners’ contest, asking consumers to show how they handle everyday household tasks in a video contest spoofing its new EcoTouchTM Insulation television commercial, which features a well-intentioned but less-than-handy homeowner who struggles to complete routine home improvement tasks. Contestants are encouraged to create parody videos of the new Owens Corning “EcoTouchTM Insulation DIY” television spot for a chance to win a USD 1,000 Home Depot gift card and other prizes.
A panel of judges will rate each entry and consumers will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite video online 12-18 December at www.youtube.com/owenscorning. Winners will be selected based on a number of criteria, including creativity and community support throughout the online voting period. For more information, visit www.handy-homeowner.com.
