German-based Oberland Glas AG a majority-owned (88%) subsidiary of the French group Saint-Gobain, has reported an increase in the group“s 1995 year-end surplus to DM 32.6 million (up from DM 12.4 million in 1994). Consolidated group turnover dropped by DM 9 million (down 1.1%) to DM 817.4 million. The company has attributed the improved surplus to cost-cutting measures and increased productivity. Turnover in container glassware, Oberland“s core business, was steady at DM 652.3 million (DM 653.5 million).
