US-based Norton Co. plans to finance more than half the cost of setting up a research centre with the Japanese firm, Kure Grinding Wheel Co. Ltd., in Hiroshima, Japan. Norton World Grinding Technology Center will do applied R&D from autumn 1996, presumably in the line of abrasives, Norton“s main business line.
