The Japanese producer of cathode-ray tube glass, Nippon Electric Glass, has announced its results for the financial year ending March 1996. The Japanese company reported that sales rose to JPY 236.45 billion (from JPY 219.6 billion for the previous period). Net profit increased 58% to JPY 7.49 billion, while the earnings per share grew to JPY 46.87 (JPY 32.61). The dividend payment increased from JPY 9 to JPY 10. For the next financial year (1996/97), Nippon Electric Glass is forecasting slight increases in sales and profits. Sales are predicted to increase 1.5% to JPY 240 billion and the net profit figure should rise by nearly 7% to JPY 8 billion. However, the dividend pay-out is expected to remain the same.
