Milly Glass Works Limited, one of the largest glass manufacturers in Kenya, has closed down with the loss of 250 jobs. Milly Glass Works manufactures glasses of all types, soda bottles and plates. Milly owner Rashid Sajjad also owns several other companies in Mombasa. Workers were given no warning of the closure and called on the Kenyan government to intervene. Company management put the blame for the closure on increases in fuel costs.
