LSG processing – systron Water Cushion & Waterjet Technology

Laminated safety glass (LSG) consists of multiple glass panes bonded by a tear-resistant interlayer, typically PVB. It is widely used where safety and stability are essential, such as in architecture or public spaces. Processing LSG requires high precision, clean edges and stable, reliable processes.

The systron lines pro, proHD and proMDH provide advanced, automated solutions for flat glass processing, especially for coated and laminated glass. A key element is the patented water cushion system, which enables contact-free processing without mechanical clamping. The tool is surrounded by a uniform water film, ensuring gentle handling of sensitive glass types.

An important advantage is the open design: film residues, grinding dust and glass particles can fall directly onto the machine base and are pumped into the water treatment system, where they are removed. This prevents contamination build-up and ensures stable, uninterrupted operation.

For complex shapes, the proHD and proMDH integrate automated water-jet cutting. As a cold cutting process, water-jet technology avoids thermal or mechanical stress on both glass and interlayer. The result is clean, precise cuts without the need for rework, even for intricate geometries.
