In February of this year, the German firm Linn High Therm GmbH was awarded DIN ISO 9001 certification for its “development, manufacturing and sales of resistance-, induction- and microwave-heated furnaces/kilns for industry and laboratory”. The company, founded in 1969 and based in Eschenfelden, Bavaria, produces around 40 different standard furnaces along with specialist furnace equipment built to customers“ specifications. Another company, Linn Elektro Therm, (previously VEB Elektro, taken over and renamed by Linn in 1990), which produces chamber furnaces for metal treatment and ceramics production, was also aiming for ISO certification by June 1996. Linn reports that it currently has over 40 permanent sales and service representatives worldwide.
