Jordanian glass products manufacturer United Glass Industries (UNGI), 25% owned by local Industrial Development Co, posted a net profit of JOD 1,279 (USD 1,806/EUR 1,344) for the 1H of 2004, down from JOD 2,500 (USD 2,825/EUR 2,102) in the year-ago period. The company“s earnings per share (EPS) stood at JOD 0.003 (USD 0.004/EUR 0.0029) for January to June 2004, down from JOD 0.005 (USD 0.007/EUR 0.0049) for the same period of 2003. UNGI shareholders“ equity rose to JOD 863,000 (USD 1.22 million/EUR 906,800) at the end of June 2004 from JOD 856,700 (USD 1.21 million/EUR 900,200) at end-June 2003. The Amman-based UNGI, which was established in 1995, produces glass containers used for packagings. The company is traded on the Second Market of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE).
