HEGLA will showcase storage, logistics, finishing treatment and sustainability at Fensterbau Frontale

At Fensterbau Frontale, HEGLA will be focusing on solutions for efficient storage and logistics of glass, windows and long goods profiles

At Fensterbau Frontale 2026 in Nuremberg, the HEGLA Group will be focusing on solutions for efficient storage and logistics of glass, windows and long goods profiles. Other highlights include the post-installation finishing treatment of window units to create bird protection glass and sustainable use of end-of-life insulated glass.

Sustainability with profitability for end-of-life insulated glass
with HEGLA IG2Pieces

The IG2Pieces system will be presented as a profitable way to achieve greater sustainability for end-of-life IGUs. This system automates the separation of insulated glass into its component parts without damaging them, thus achieving higher recycling rates and maintaining maximum quality of raw materials. Once these have been separated cleanly, the panes can be reused. If they are disposed of instead, separating the insulated glass unit into its components promises a higher purchase price than the usual mixed container. In the case of newly manufactured insulated glass units with high-quality attachment, separation and repair can also generate added financial value. As a technical solution for greater sustainability, IG2Pieces has been nominated for the Fensterbau Frontale Innovation Award.

Space-saving direct access to long goods profiles and pallets
HEGLA will be presenting various versions of mobile PVCU storage systems for more space and order in the warehouse. In this solution, the shelves are positioned right next to each other. When a pallet needs to be stored or a profile removed, a handling opening opens automatically. This makes the pallets and profiles easy to access directly with a forklift or a Telehub pallet fork, for example. All the profiles and pallets remain visible at all times and are available without having to re-stack them. The system height and storage width are adjusted to suit customer requirements. Handling is carried out from the side for mobile cantilever arm shelves, and from the front for the pull-out variant.

A Renault Master converted into a glass-industry vehicle will be on display

Renault Master and exterior rack
Representing the glass and window logistics sector, a Renault Master converted into a glass-industry vehicle with an exterior rack will be on display. One new feature of this is the Variofix equipment. In combination with the slat bars, this provides additional support for several levels. Most goods are professionally loaded on the outside of the vehicle. If even more protection is required, the vehicle can also be fitted with an interior rack. In the variant with the folding horizontal support, the interior can be used flexibly.

Retrofitted bird protection using laser printing

Finishing treatment to create effective bird protection glass can also be carried out post-installation using laser printing

HEGLA boraident ensures greater sustainability by offering solutions for the finishing treatment of panes, turning them into bird protection glass. With the BIRDfriend system, an aesthetic protective pattern can be printed onto the surface at a later date using gentle laser printing. The effect is threefold: the bird is alerted to an obstacle, deceptively realistic reflections are broken up, and the slight reflection of the print provides additional protection. At the same time, the finishing treatment also increases the product’s added value.

HEGLA Managing Directors Bernhard Hötger and Toni Schön are looking forward to Fensterbau Frontale.

“The event brings the whole industry together in Nuremberg, and we have always appreciated the extra momentum it injects into our sector every two years,” said Hötger.

“This is also an important date for us to present innovations, discover trends ourselves and meet many customers again in person,” Schön added.
