The Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) has recorded net losses of Br872.8 billion in the first six months of the year, with Gomselmash and Gomeslteklo also recording losses.
This is almost 10 times more than the same period of 2014, according to reports on the performance of open joint stock companies for the past year prepared by the Ministry of Finances.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Gomselmash plant is ranked second in the list of companies with biggest net losses. The plant has net losses of Br690.7 billion compared to Br806 million in the same period last year.
The third company with biggest net losses is Gomeslteklo plant with Br198.5 billion, which is by 17% higher than last year.
The Top 10 of the most loss-making companies includes Krasnoselskstroymaterialy (Br145.4 billion), Belarusian Metallurgical Plant – the management company of the group Belarusian Metallurgical Company (Br143.7 billion), BATE – the management company of Avtokomponenty group (Br118,5 billion), Minsk Bearing Plant (Br113,1 billion) and the management company of Bobruiskagromash group (Br99.4 billion).
